- All of your slideshows have been moved from the old DID
to the new MDID.
- If you are using the MDID ImageViewer, you will have to
reinstall the ImageViewer to work with the updated MDID.
To get to the new ImageViewer installation page, please
log into the new MDID at http://cit.jmu.edu/mdid/
and follow the "download imageviewer" link on
the page that lists your slideshows.
- The new system looks very much like the old. There are
two important changes: (i) students will now be able to
hide image catalog information when viewing a slideshow;
and (ii) you will be able to access Archived slideshows
from the ImageViewer.
- The ImageViewer has a number of new keyboard commands.
When you are viewing a slideshow, you may use any of the
following keyboard commands:
a. Press RIGHT ARROW to move to the
next slide*
b. Press LEFT ARROW to move to the
previous slide*
c. Press UP ARROW to enlarge slide*
d. Press DOWN ARROW to shrink slide to
fit to screen*
e. Press HOME to move to beginning of
slideshow*
f. Press END to move to end of
slideshow*
g. Press c to center a slide on the
screen*
h. Press h to hide/show a slide*
i. Press i to hide/show a slide's
cataloging and annotation information*
j. Press u to unsplit a split screen
k. Press x to split a screen
horizontally
l. Press y to split a screen
vertically

* When using these key commands with a split
screen: pressing the key by itself will affect the left or
top screen; pressing SHIFT + the key will affect the right
or bottom screen; and pressing CNTRL + the key will affect
both screens simultaneously.
