Online Program and Course Development
Faculty and student support services for online learning have grown dramatically at JMU the past ten years. Now beginning its second decade, distance learning at JMU continues to experience unprecedented enrollment growth that is three times the national average, placing distance learning at JMU in the top tier of Virginia’s four-year universities. Much of this growth is due to the combination of student interest and faculty innovation as well as professional development initiatives that have been instrumental in converting traditional on-campus courses to online courses. More recently, academic departments at JMU are developing online graduate degree programs and certificate programs that offer extended learning opportunities for a growing population of students who want to continue their education in a flexible and convenient format.
