About
the Faculty Summer Institute:
Now
beginning its eighth year, the CIT Faculty Summer Institute assists faculty
with online course development and teaching. Conducted by the Center for Instructional Technology (CIT) in
partnership with Media Resources, JMU Libraries, and affiliated JMU
faculty, the Summer Institute is a week-long series of interactive
workshops, technology skills sessions, hands-on project work, group
discussions, and mentoring sessions that culminates in the development of
an online course that will be taught during the 2010 and 2011 summer
sessions. The dates for the 2010 Summer Institute are: May 10 – May 14.
Applications for the 2010 Faculty Summer Institute are now being
accepted.
The application is a two-step process:
1) Submit your application online (see below).
2) Download, complete and send the “Statement of Support” (with
signatures) to the CIT (see below).
Prior
to submitting a proposal, please read the supporting documentation (Request
for Proposals and Timeline) below.
