Refresher for Innovative and Best Practice in Online Teaching

Description:

Have you taught an online course at JMU in the last few years and are looking for a refresher as you prepare to do so again? If so, this 2-hour workshop is for you.

This professional development event will present and discuss updated norms, practices, pedagogies, and technologies available for teaching online, as well as offer strategies for encouraging student success in online learning. Time will be structured for peers to exchange ideas and experiences in order to strengthen the quality of in-depth and interactive learning online at JMU. Participants will receive technology resource support, sponsored by Innovation Services, as course redesign needs arise. Lunch will be provided.

Objectives:

**Obtain updates about and enhance understanding of best practices in online learning
**Identify strategies that engage student learning success in online courses
**Evaluate the support and information available for engaging student online learning and sustaining our faculty online teaching community
